What we collect when you use this site or sign up, and what we do with it.
Last updated: September 2026.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to clubgolfatindianauniversity.org (or wherever this site is hosted) and to the paper trail generated when you fill out our membership sign-up form. Club Golf at IU is an independent student organization at Indiana University and is not a registered business; the club president is the point of contact for anything on this page.
Information we collect
When you submit the membership sign-up form on the Join page, we collect: your first and last name, email address, phone number, membership tier (Casual or Competitive), and, optionally, your handicap index or recent scores. We also record whether you've checked the boxes confirming you completed a set of required outside steps (the IU Club Sports waiver, our BeInvolved page, and, for Competitive members, NCCGA registration and the vehicle/MVR forms).
Important: checking those boxes only tells us you say you completed those steps. The actual waiver, NCCGA account, and MVR/vehicle records are collected and stored directly by IU Recreational Sports, NCCGA, and IU's MVR system respectively, not by us, and not through this site.
How we use it
We use this information to maintain our membership roster, confirm who's paid dues, verify tournament and travel eligibility, and contact members about practices, tournaments, and club events. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
Where it's stored
Sign-up submissions are stored in two places: Netlify's built-in form-submission dashboard (Netlify, Inc., our website host) and a Google Sheet maintained by club officers (Google LLC). Both are standard, access-controlled tools; access is limited to club officers who need it to run the team.
Payment information
Dues are paid through Stripe Payment Links, which take you to a page hosted entirely by Stripe, Inc. We never receive, see, or store your card number, expiration date, or CVC; Stripe handles all of that under its own security and privacy practices. If you have questions about a charge, you can also contact Stripe directly.
Cookies & tracking
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we don't run any third-party tracking scripts. Because of that, we don't show a cookie-consent banner: there's currently nothing to consent to. If that ever changes (for example, if we add basic visit analytics down the road), we'll update this section and add a consent notice at that time.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have on file, correct it, or ask us to delete it once you're no longer an active member, by emailing us (see below). Note that some records (like NCCGA registration or IU's own waiver/MVR systems) aren't ours to delete; you'd need to contact those organizations directly for those.
Changes to this policy
If how we collect or use information changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above.

Terms & Conditions
The basics of using this site and joining Club Golf at IU.
Last updated: September 2026.
Who we are
Club Golf at Indiana University is an independent, student-run organization at Indiana University, operating as a registered club sport under IU Recreational Sports and competing in the National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA). We are not affiliated with IU Athletics or the IU Hoosiers golf program, and we are not a registered business; think of these terms as the club's own house rules for the site and for membership, not a corporate legal contract.
Who can join
Membership is open to current Indiana University students in good standing. By signing up, you're confirming you're a current IU student and that the information you submit is accurate.
Membership & dues
Choosing a membership tier and completing the sign-up form is a commitment to pay the listed dues for that tier for the semester. Dues are processed securely through Stripe. See our Refund Policy for what happens if you need to cancel or withdraw after paying.
Some membership steps (the IU Club Sports waiver, BeInvolved registration, and, for Competitive members, NCCGA registration and vehicle/MVR forms) happen on other organizations' websites, not ours. You're responsible for completing those; we can only see whether you've checked the box confirming you did.
Assumption of risk
Golf and related club activities (including tournament travel) carry an inherent risk of injury. By participating in Club Golf at IU activities, you acknowledge and accept that risk. This is a supplement to, not a replacement for, the official IU Club Sports waiver you complete separately; that waiver is the controlling document for liability and insurance purposes.
Using this website
You agree to use this site for its intended purpose (learning about the club, viewing the schedule, and signing up for membership or apparel) and not to attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorized access to it. We make reasonable efforts to keep the site accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, and information (like tournament dates) is subject to change.
Third-party links
This site links out to a number of third-party sites we don't control, including IU Recreational Sports, NCCGA, Google Forms/SharePoint links, Instagram, GroupMe, and Stripe. We aren't responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those sites once you leave ours; their own terms and privacy policies apply there.
Payments
All dues and any future apparel purchases are processed through Stripe's hosted checkout. We never see or store your payment card details. Stripe's own terms govern the payment transaction itself.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally as the club or site changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
Governing law
These terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws of the State of Indiana, consistent with Indiana University's own policies for registered student organizations.
Contact us
Questions about these terms? Email cgiu@iu.edu or zdavids@iu.edu, or text/call 219-741-1604.
Refund Policy
What to expect if you need to cancel after paying dues.
Last updated: September 2026.
General policy
Membership dues (Casual or Competitive) are largely non-refundable once paid. This is because dues go toward costs the club commits to early in the semester (subsidized tee times, tournament entry fees, travel deposits, and league fees), many of which we can't recover once they're paid on your behalf.
Exceptions we'll consider
We'll consider a full or partial refund, at the executive board's discretion, in situations like:
- You request a refund within 7 days of paying and before attending any club practice, tournament, or event.
- A documented medical or personal emergency prevents you from participating for the remainder of the semester.
- The club cancels a season or major event you already paid tournament fees for, and can't reasonably reallocate that fee.
What's not eligible
Refunds generally aren't available for a simple change of mind after you've attended a practice or tournament, or for requests made late in the semester once the associated costs have already been spent on your behalf.
How to request one
Email cgiu@iu.edu or zdavids@iu.edu explaining your situation. Refunds, when approved, are issued back to the original payment method through Stripe and can take several business days to appear on your statement.
Apparel store
Once the apparel store is live, individual product listings will note whether items are refundable or exchange-only (custom/team-branded apparel is often final sale). Check the product page at the time of purchase.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, reach out to cgiu@iu.edu or text/call 219-741-1604 before you sign up, not after.
